PLEASE HELP

We all need to realize the severity of the situation we are facing regarding the condition of our planet. Climate change should not be a partisan issue--it's not political at all. We create too much waste, use too much energy, and are seriously endangering the life on our planet.

VERY SMALL CHANGES CAN MAKE A VERY BIG DIFFERENCE.

I'm not going to get into the kind of car you drive or alternative energy sources, because, sadly, those things have become so highly politicized that people hear with filters on. So let's just start small, shall we?

VERY SMALL CHANGES CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE.

Things we can all do, and should easily be able to agree on. So, I'm just going to start posting ideas for reducing your intake and impact here and on my blog (dailyvanity.blogspot.com)
. Feel free to start making these minor adjustments.

IT'S SO EASY! =)

1. No wrapping paper this year! Be creative with newspapers and magazines. Explain to the people receiving your gifts why the new look and you'll not only not feel silly, but you'll be spreading the word about ways to help.
1b. All the gifts you receive with ribbons and bags--save and reuse them! I don't think my dad has bought a Christmas bow in the past 23 years. He just keeps recycling them.

2. Water waste is enormous in the US. Small changes: flush fewer times (so, don't let the toilet double as a garbage can for tissues, etc. and just flush carelessly); TURN OFF THE WATER WHEN YOU BRUSH!; only run FULL dishwasher loads and don't pre-rinse them; TAKE SHORTER SHOWERS--just 2 minutes makes a big difference.

3. When choosing a way to light up anything, a book of cardboard matches is the best choice. Box matches are made from trees (the book from recycled paper), and about 1.5 billion plastic lighters get tossed (and ultimately end up in land fills) each year.

Just some small EASY ways to start helping out. Things you can change today that will make a huge impact on the world, but a very small one on your life. ;)

VERY SMALL CHANGES CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE.
