List!

The last couple years, and particularly the last couple months, I have felt like I have accomplished NOTHING. Now, this is, of course, not true. I've still traveled, got a job (had six at one point), did all kinds of things really. But, with being a lame ass invalid I just feel like there is so much more I've wanted to accomplish and haven't been able to.

This is probably a good thing. Because now, I will likely be inspired and determined to waste no time as soon as I am fully functioning again (maybe in a couple months? ::fingers crossed::).

Anyways, what I do have now is time to think about and plan out all of the adventures I want to be a part of in the next few years. Here's a fun brainstorm of the goals I'm setting for myself. (Please feel encouraged to comment with your own.)

Marathon--this is a big one. I was well on my way to accomplishing this goal before I fell victim to the tick bite. This WILL happen before I am 30.
Triathlons--good fun.
Short film--I've been sitting on what I consider to be a really awesome screen play for some time now. I wrote it in an afternoon while in Colorado (when I should have been doing work...). It requires a pretty small cast and probably only a week of filming at most. I would love to do this over the summer.
Lounge singer--No, I'm not kidding. I want to put together a couple hours worth of material and sell myself to some clubs/lounges. I really want to sing again somewhere. Just for fun. You only live once.
The Amazing Race--Now, this one requires the commitment of the brilliant and lovely Amanda Matlock, so we'll see, but no one can tell me that I wouldn't be awesome at this. I was born to do race amazingly. Oh, let me see, mental and physical competition with a close friend while traveling around the world. If it sounds like the description of my autobiography, IT IS. Amanda, get done with law school and f jobs for a while. We're doing it. ;D
World Cup, Brazil--Admittedly Manolis is the driving force behind this desire, but, come on, it would be awesome. It's a while away; we can make this happen.
Sky diving--This is a classic. But I do want to do it.
Bikram's Yoga Retreat--I have to get back into the practice again, but once I feel comfortable and confident enough I would love to take part in an intensive Bikram Yoga instructive retreat. I'll be walking on my hands in no time.
See all 7 continents. Believe it or not, even with all of my travels, I have only been to two continents: North America and Europe. The next 10 years will give way to a hard push for the other 5 (Yes, this includes Antarctica. Yes, you can go there.)

These are just the first few things that come to my mind. There are more. But a pretty good start, I think. Each day better than the one before.

the Day to Day

AHHHHHH! The Fashion posted their new US tour dates for October and November. Looks like I have some weekend getaways to plan! Haha! Ahhhhhhahahahahahaha!

In other news, nothing particularly exciting to report. The flights were booked this weekend, so I couldn't meet up with Lisa in Columbus to see American Steel. I guess the next time I'll see her will be in Germany!

Since I had the weekend free, I biked 20 miles with Amanda yesterday, then ran 3. In between, we had the most appreciated soup, salad, and breadsticks of all time at the Olive Garden.

Training for the triathlon is going pretty well. I've run at least 3 miles a day since I started on Tuesday, bike as my main mode of transport, and, well, have only swam twice, but I'm working on every other day (which I can keep up if I make it to the pool today).

I screwed up my alarm and missed church this morning. =( I have a really bad sunburn from yesterday that I'm just begging will calm down sometime soon.

Got a lot of pictures from the past few months to put up, but the cord to connect camera with computer is M.I.A. and so we're very limited to text right now.

Oh, oh! This is exciting. Dara is coming to visit me and her friend Tim who lives in Denver October 16th-20th. Then my parents are coming out November 7th-10th. Woot.

Here's something I've been wanting to do lately. I've always been obsessed with lists. I love to-do lists, lists of countries I've been to or bands I've seen live, any kind of list really. Well, I'm starting a Life's To Do list (not that I haven't been making those since I was wee little). And might as well start it here.

Burning Man Festival (next year ::crosses fingers::)
run a half marathon (and if that is accomplished, then a marathon--one day)
publish a book (likely academic)
visit:
-all 50 states
-all 7 continents (yes, even Antarctica. It's totally doable; the professor I used to teach for is going in November)
-all European countries
learn to speak a second language
sing the National Anthem at a professional sporting event
surf

There's so much; we'll add as we go.

What's on your to do list?
